RADIATION SAFETY BOARD APPROVED COURSE X225 ($499.00)
This is a three-Sunday course over four weeks and consists of 8 hours didactic, 12 hours laboratory (manikins) and 12 hours clinical (live patients) for a total of 32 hours (3-4 days).
In order to successfully pass this course, candidates must perform the following:
1. For homework, submit digital full mouth x-ray series from three different patients. The school will not provide patients, students are responsible for finding their own patients.
2. Pass a written exam.
3. Perform a graded digital full mouth series (FMX) dental x-rays on on a fourth patient in 45 minutes or less.
WHAT TO BRING:
1. Copy of CPR / BLS Card from approved AHA or ARC providers (If applicable)
2. Personal Protective Equipment (Masks, Gowns, Goggles, Gloves, Etc.)
If for any reason you have difficulty trying to secure the supplies and equipment needed please try to make arrangements with the school
Patient Selection Criteria:
-Patients must be 18 years or older.
-Patients must complete a health history form.
-The supervising dentist must examine patients before radiographs are taken.
-Patients must agree to and sign the Patient Consent Form for Radiographs by a Student.
-Patients must have no more than three missing teeth in each quadrant excluding third molars or wisdom teeth, to be an eligible candidate for a full mouth series of x-rays.
-Patients are only allowed one full mouth series of x-rays, including retakes if necessary.
-Patients are not eligible for radiographs if they have mental or physical conditions that would be prevent them from sitting for about an hour.
-Patients are expected to be punctual and understanding with students, recognizing that they are learning and are being graded in the process.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The fee for this Board Approved Radiation Safety Course (Dental X-Ray Certification) is $499.
Part of the fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $50.00.
Any cancellations, regardless of reason, TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CLASS WILL RECEIVE NO REFUNDS WHATSOEVER AND THE ENTIRE PAYMENT IS FORFEITED.
