This two-day course consists of 4 hours didactic, 4 hours laboratory (manikins) and 4 hours clinical (Live Patients) for a total of 12 hours (2 Days).
Candidates will be required to successfully pass a written test and perform coronal polishing on three different patients (1 homework patient and 2 exam day patients). Candidates must find their own patients. The school will not provide patients. Two of the three patients will be graded for the Clinical Exam and will be provided by the candidate.
WHAT TO BRING:
1. Copy of CPR / BLS Card from approved AHA or ARC providers
2. Copy or proof of completion of Board Approved 8-Hour Infection Control Course.
3. Copy or proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination.
4. PPE
The fee includes all equipment, supplies and materials for the candidate to be able to perform the Coronal Polishing procedures except for PPE.
It is the responsibility of the candidates to bring their own PPE (Head Caps, Disposable Gowns, KN95 Masks, ASTM Level III Masks, Face Shields, Gloves, etc.). A candidate who has incomplete PPE will not be allowed to perform clinical procedures.
Patient Selection Criteria:
-Patients must be 18 years or older.
-Patients must complete a health history form.
-A dentist must examine the patients before the polishing procedure.
-Patients must agree to and sign the consent form.
-Patients must be calculus free with some plaque formation.
-Patients must have no more than three missing teeth per quadrant excluding third molars or wisdom teeth.
-Patients must understand and accept that student candidates will be working on them and are being graded in the process.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The fee for this board approved Coronal Polishing Course is $375.
Part of the fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $50.
Any cancellations, regardless of reason, TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CLASS WILL RECEIVE NO REFUNDS WHATSOEVER AND THE ENTIRE PAYMENT IS FORFEITED.
