Effective Jan. 1, 2025, all dental assistants must complete a Board-approved 8-hour course in infection control prior to performing any basic supportive dental procedures involving potential exposure to blood, saliva, or other potentially infectious materials.  (SB 1453 Ashby, Chapter 483, Statutes of 2024)

The 8-Hour Infection Control Course is divided into 6 hours of didactic instruction and 2 hours of laboratory instruction. Students must pass a written exam at the end of the day.

WHAT TO BRING:

1.    Personal Protective Equipment 

2.    Copy of  Hepatitis B Vaccination or copy of signed and dated Hepatitis B Vaccine Declination Form.

3.    Copy of CPR / BLS Card from approved AHA or ARC providers

4.    Filled up homework sheet (This will be emailed to you prior to the class)


It is the responsibility of the candidates to bring their own PPE (Head Caps, Disposable Gowns, KN95 Masks, ASTM Level III Masks, Face Shields, Gloves, etc.). A candidate who has incomplete PPE will not be allowed to perform clinical procedures.


The Dental Practice Act part for two-course bundle is a Dental Board of California approved home study course which meets the required 2-hour Dental Practice Act continuing education requirement towards Ca license renewal and RDA examination application. The instructions, course material and answer sheet will be emailed to the candidate or handouts will be given out during the Infection Control Class.


CANCELLATION POLICY:

The fee for this board approved 8-Hour Infection Control Course is $299. Part of the fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $50.00.

The fee for the 8-Hour Infection Control Course and DPA Bundle is $325. Part of the fee is a NON-REFUNDABLE processing fee of $50.00.

Any cancellations, regardless of reason, TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE CLASS WILL RECEIVE NO REFUNDS WHATSOEVER AND THE ENTIRE PAYMENT IS FORFEITED.
