The LASDA Dental Assisting program is a twelve week course that requires students to attend theoretical, laboratory and clinical classes two evenings per week.
It is a total of 72 hours of lecture/clinical preparation and a 40-hour internship with a practicing Dentist.
This course covers the basic skills necessary to assist the Dentist in an entry level position in the various operative procedures performed in a dental practice. Dr. Fernando de la Pena utilizes a hands on educational approach where students learn by doing. The faculty is composed of a Dentist, RDAs, DAs and Office Personnel with many years of real-world experience in the field of Dentistry.
Students who complete the 3 month course successfully will be given priority to move on to our other courses especially the X-Ray Course, a California Dental Board approved Radiation Safety Certification Course (X225).
Our 12-week Dental Assisting course is not a Dental Board of California accredited program. The course meets the exempt requirements of the Bureau For Private Postsecondary Education.
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older or will be 18 years old at the beginning of the class, have a High School Diploma or GED and must submit proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination (Yellow Immunization card is acceptable), will receive Hepatitis B Vaccination prior to the start of the classes or sign a Hepatitis B Vaccination Declination Form.
