The LASDA Dental Assisting program is a twelve week course that requires students to attend theoretical, laboratory and clinical classes two evenings per week.
It is a total of 72 hours of lecture/clinical preparation and a 40-hour internship with a practicing Dentist.
This course covers the basic skills necessary to assist the Dentist in an entry level position in the various operative procedures performed in a dental practice. Dr. Fernando de la Pena utilizes a hands on educational approach where students learn by doing. The faculty is composed of a Dentist, RDAs, DAs and Office Personnel with many years of real-world experience in the field of Dentistry.
Students who complete the 3 month course successfully will be given priority to move on to our other courses especially the X-Ray Course, a California Dental Board approved Radiation Safety Certification Course (X225).
Our 12-week Dental Assisting course is not a Dental Board of California accredited program. The course meets the exempt requirements of the Bureau For Private Postsecondary Education. All DA Course applicants must have a High School diploma or GED.
